Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 27, 2026

1. Introduction

Diving Board ("we," "our," or "the app") is a free fitness tracking application. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Data We Collect

We collect only the data you provide during account creation and app usage:

3. How We Use Your Data

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), hosted in the United States. Firebase provides encryption at rest and in transit. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication, which follows industry-standard security practices.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Your data is used exclusively to provide app functionality. We do not run ads. We do not use your data for marketing. We use Google Firebase for data storage and authentication, and an email delivery provider (SendGrid) solely to send transactional emails such as verification codes and account notifications. We do not share your data with any other third parties.

6. Health Data (Apple Health & Google Health Connect)

Diving Board is a workout tracking tool, not a medical device, and does not provide medical advice. Integration with Apple Health (HealthKit) and Google Health Connect is entirely optional and off by default. It is enabled only when you turn it on in your profile settings and grant the corresponding system permission.

Data we write (only when sync is enabled): the body weight entries you log in the app, and the estimated active energy (calories) for workouts you complete, so your gym activity appears alongside your other health metrics.

Data we read (only with your permission): your body weight, and your heart rate during a workout. We read heart rate only for the time window of a workout you log — we do not continuously monitor or read your health data in the background. The heart-rate summary for a workout (average and maximum) may be saved with that workout in your account so you can view it in your history; like the rest of your workout data, it is stored in our secure cloud database (Google Firebase).

Health data accessed through Apple Health or Google Health Connect is used solely to provide these app features. We never use health data for advertising or marketing, we never sell or share it with third parties, and we never use it for data mining or any purpose other than your own fitness tracking.

Your control: you can disable sync at any time in your profile settings. You can revoke access entirely in the iOS Settings app (Health > Data Access & Devices) or in Google Health Connect, which immediately stops all reads and writes. Deleting your account removes the health-derived data stored in your account; data already written to Apple Health or Health Connect remains under your control in those platforms and can be removed there.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

8. Children's Privacy

Diving Board is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Analytics & Tracking

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools. We do not track your behavior outside of the app. We do not use cookies for advertising purposes.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
